The Great Horse

In 2014 Asian Story Theater premiered The Great Horse, a beautiful and bittersweet Mongolian folktale about
a young boy and his extraordinary horse. This horse is stolen away by the envious Warlord, but ultimately
immortalized in the voice of the Morin Khuur, “horse fiddle” in Mongolian. This video recording is available
as an adjunct to Asian Story Theater's educational unit on Year of the Horse.

Adapted and produced by KL Brisby, and directed by Rhys Green. Original music score written and
performed by Dr. Alex Khalil, featuring the morin khuur. Production design by Cheryl Lindley-Lopez.

Production sponsored in part by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture,
and the San Diego Chinese Women's Association.
